A Collection of Old Poems Pt. 2

I will never forget
your good intentions,
because even though
they are good intentions,
they can still haunt my dreams.
Regret is filled
when I see your name,
even when it doesn't belong to you.
Set me free,
forget about me.
I'm a big tough girl
who can take care of herself.
Are these words
even yours?
It's hard to differentiate
innocence
from
malice.
You never struck me
as a malicious person,
but people can change
(even if you don't believe so).
So thank you for the nightmares
and sleepless nights.
I'd appreciate a sense of happy
without that hint of guilt.
Let her feed you words,
just keep those phrases to yourself,
for I don't need
more pointless worrying.
Will you always try to contact me?
Or will you eventually give up,
leaving me to make mistakes
of my own free will?
All I'm asking for
is a chance to be my own.
I can't learn from pain
that I have yet to experience.
You were always impressed
by my use of words,
so here is one last set
just for you.
Goodbye,
don't call me again.
It's for the best
for the both of us.
Your obsession is unhealthy,
and causing you to take hostages.
Take these shackles you've chained me up with
and shove them up your ass.
Merry Christmas,
from me to you.
